Shades of Blue is an original abstract painting in acrylic on a canvas board. This painting was always going to be a mix of random rounded shapes which would in a way slot together to create a whole, no straight lines just going where the brush led me. Then came the fun, well I called it fun but my hands did not agree with me one little bit, as I began to decorate each of the colour blocks. I suffer from very disobedient hands which have their own ideas about what they will and will not do, but they never quite beat me, it does though sometimes cause some unusual effects.

Once the picture was finished and allowed to completely dry it was sealed with two coats of varnish, which provides a protective layer. Finally the painting was placed in an open frame. All the frames that I am using are made in the UK.
